Fall 26/27 Norris School Enrollment

Online School Enrollment: March 2, 2026 - May 31, 2026

Starting June 1, 2026, enrollment documentation will need to be presented at the District Office to start the registration process.

For online enrollment registration, gather documentation in electronic form (PDF, JPEG) for uploading to the online registration for submission. During registration your progress may be saved for completion at a later date and time if needed.

Starting Jun 1, 2026, you will be required to bring all the original documents to the district office for approval before starting the registration process. (see list below)

Laptops are available at the District Office for registration during office hours:

M-F, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Summer hours will vary, and be posted on the website.

District Office location : 6940 Calloway Drive, Bakersfield CA 93312.

If you are outside the Bakersfield area and need to register a student(s) due to relocating, you may call the Enrollment Department at 661-387-7000.

Proof of Residence is Required

The required documentation will need to be provided online (3/2/26-5/31/26) or in person at the District Office after June 1.

Parent to provide TWO (2) proof of residence:

One (1) from the primary list (see next section)
One (1) from the secondary list.

Immunization record
An official birth certificate or passport
Oral Health Form (required first time enrollment in CA school TK-1 grade).

Your child will be confirmed for their grade level once all required documentation is received. Once a grade level has reached its capacity, any new enrollees will be transferred to one of our other school sites where space is available.

Proof of Residence is required to register and for enrollment to be accepted.

All enrollments must show evidence you reside within District boundaries.

You must provide two (2) POR, one from each category.

The ONLY acceptable documents are:

One (1) Primary POR

Current mortgage statement, payment coupon, grant deed
Current property tax statement
Signed rental contract, lease or payment receipts
Escrow papers/construction contract with expected move in date

AND
One (1) Secondary POR

Current utility service contract (water, gas, electric) statement or payment receipts
Monthly correspondence from a government agency (ie: unemployment/benefit statement)
Current pay stub with your name/address

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. The TK program is focused on early literacy experiences, social and emotional development, self-regulation and self-help skills, and motor skill development. TK is a bridge between preschool and kindergarten that prepares the youngest preschool students for educational success.

Children entering TK in the 2026-27 school year must be 4 (four) years old by September 1.

Kindergarten - Children entering Kindergarten in the 2026-2027 school year must be 5 (five) years old by September 1.
